Distributor Problem
Discussion
Hi All
My 84 Turbo is at the mechanics at the moment (I'm in Australia by the way) and he informs me that the reason my car is not kicking over is because the rotor arm under the distributor cap has come loose and needs replacing. Is this part interchangeable with another make of car? If not, and I have to order it from the UK, where is the best place to order it from?
Regards

Hi Mike,

If not these will

M,
It's a standard Lucas part. Costs about $4 here in the states. Just go into an Auto Parts store and ask for the rotor for a >'73MGB, it's the exact same part, same distributor. I always purchase these as MGB parts as they are much cheaper than if you were to mention the L[/i[]word. Happy Motoring!...Jim'85TE

You have REPCO autoparts in Australia?
I found the ones in NZ had listings for rotor, cap, points etc. Same as Mini Moke, MGB.(For S2)
Try to get a Lucas rotor though. I had a bad run with Bosch rotors from REPCO. Went through 3 in 3 months before fitting a Lucas one which has been fine. May have been a bad batch as I met a MGB owner who had struck the same problem. One rotor only lasted 30 miles.
Repco list a few parts for Esprits including a timing belt $NZ38.
