Hi all, anyone know anything about the Tissot Sideral Automatic? Most specifically what sort of movement it has and where the best place to get one repaired/serviced would be?

Also, what's the funny little metal disc in the fibreglass back for?

Thanks

Steve

Tissot Sideral. Hmmmmm...

I'm guessing you mean an old one, pre 1980 say?

There were a lot of variations, materials(fibreglass, metal, fibreglass and metal), style, strap fastenings. You name it they varied it, they even produced an electronic Sideral. Which one are you curious about?

Tissot experimented with fibreglass cases for water resistance, this lead to a case design that meant the movement was inserted from the front, the metal thingy, I assume, is something to do with that.

The Automatic used mainly the Tissot 2841 If you're looking for a specialist concerning service and repair an Omega dealer is your best bet.

edit to reflect the fact I actually read Bloobirds post properly the second time.
