Anyone go to Monster Jam today?

Well did any other PH'er visit the Millenium Stadium for Manster Jam tonight? I have to say I thouroghly enjoyed it, an excellent spectacle, amazing trucks, great driving and the greatest noise you will hear in Motorsport or anywere in the world for that matter.

Seeing Maximum Destruction face plant the floor from 30ft of air was pretty insane.

I suspect that the only thing 'still circulating' is the colour scheme, rest of the truck looks as new as the others. Shame there is no BigFoot any more though.

We (me, my wife , plus our sons aged 8 & 11) were there and thoroughly enjoyed it - the oldest boy is the real monster truck fan and was very excited to meet his hero Tom Meents

The only disappointment for me was that of the 4 trucks & drivers I really wanted to see, 3 of them failed to finish their freestyle - Tom Meents in Max D (but what a crash !!), Damon Bradshaw (current world freestyle champ), and Candice Jolly in Monster Mutt ( the shortest ever freestyle ??).

The Reliant Robin racing was the funniest thing I've seen in years

There are also lots of videos on youtube, this one of Max D here is especially good if you watch the HD version.

There have been (and still are) several Gravediggers, the one in Cardiff was actually number 22. A couple of years ago at the World finals they celebrated 25 years of Gravedigger by getting 5 out on the track at the same time.

If you're really keen (or have an 11-year old you can use as an excuse ....... ) you can buy various official DVD's from ebay - we've used this seller here a couple of times now and found him to be very quick and reliable.

Bigfoot is still around AFAIK (we saw the UK-based #18 at Santa Pod last year) but they havent raced with Monster jam for a few years now.

Nope, thats it for this year although there are other European dates (see http://www.monsterjamonline.com/europe).

I didnt realise photos and videos would be allowed either, so only took a small compact and left the SLR and camcorder at home

There are some UK-based trucks which do the occasional show but not on the scale of Monster Jam.

Yeah, seen the UK ones at truckfest shows before, they are awesome so would love to see the Yankee version

The UK trucks are good (as all monster trucks are) but meaning no disrespect they are nothing on the trucks and spectacle at Monster Jam.

Good show, enjoyed it. And the Robin Reliant DD was great

I made it there...really enjoyed, I felt like a kid in a sweet store (larged engined things everywhere ) kinda makes me want to find out when its on in the State's and try to book there, can imagine it would be bigger and better! Well worth the trek down for me and the OH.
