I paid £90 for mine, (96) Cerbera, if under 10 years old it will be cheaper.

I'd be talking to the garage, mate.

Worst case parts only, surely?

yes it does cover it but not friction plates (they are wear and tear) but you must break down and call AA assistance, so if your car is already in a garage they wont cover it. In addition to that you can get the AA paying, two weeks after you obtained cover. So basically you must get AA cover, wait for two weeks and then call them out.

^ what QQC said. They'll pay £475 (£500 minus £25 excess) towards it. 1x slave and 1x fingers for me so far smile

Calling them out isn't such a hardship as you'll need it relayed to the garage anyway. I'm lucky enough to live near APM and Andy is used to dealing with AA claims, I think he has the AA claims dept on speed dial hehe

what happens if you have a car which hasn't previously been serviced in line with manufacturers guidlines etc but you intend to service it with dealer from your purchase date in line with manufacturers spec etc.?

Would they consider that?

What level of cover do people have?

Edited to added: i have just rung them direct, they wont touch it as its over 3.4L and they exclude TVR's.

How did you all take yours out?

they have put an engine size cap, and exclude tvrs eek? that must be very recent, its probably the amount of starters and clutches they have been paying for recently rolleyes

shout TC

Speak to TC, they wriggled out of his clutch claim and another friend who's 3rd gear went they got out of paying there too. Got to be careful how things are first worded to them..

I have had a slave and top diff mount out of them so far. Merc gearbox repair will be next biggrin
