Hi All

I need to know if I can fit a bike in the back of a 3 or 5 series estate if I take the quick release wheels out!

Can anyone confirm if this is possible(without folding seats down) for either 3 or 5 series?

thanks

Reckon you can do that in a 5 easily - did so in an e34 saloon years ago.

No idea about a 3.

What is the bike?

My 19" hardtail would fit in my old E46 saloon and my E36 saloon by removing the wheels and dropping the seat post.

Should have mentioned, I only had to remove the front wheel.

A roadbike minus the wheels will happily fit in the boot of an E46 3-er Touring without folding the rear seats down. Most days that I drive to the office, I do so in just such a fashion smile

In an E36 touring a MTB will fit fine with both wheels off, in the saloon it won't make it through the opening even with the saddle post removed.

My E34 is huge. I regularly bung the seats down and just wheel my bike in wheels on as well.

I have fit two in with the wheels on.

Amazingly with careful packing you can get three people and three bikes in the car albeit with some wheels being removed. smile

My bangbus (e34 tourer) will easily swallow a 19" frame mountain bike but I do have to drop the seats if I leave the wheels on. Many other cars will let you do this aswell of course but it is very easy, no messing about. I love my tourer as a second car. When I don't use it as a run around it doubles up as useful storage space. It fills the garage but I just then fill the car with stuff that would usually go in the garage lol.
