Aftermarket Aircon possible?
Discussion
Not sure if Mk1 & Mk2.5 AC is the same. I'm pretty sure the gas it uses will be different and I'm not sure about the legality of using a system from an older car and gassing with the gas required for that system. Might be no problem at all, just thinking out loud with no real knowledge.
I've never heard of anyone removing AC from a Mk2.5. Might be able to get one from a scrapper.

Hi Kim,
Do you mean that your car was not originally specced with AC or someone has removed is since the car was built?
If it's the former i'm not sure it's possible to retrofit.
Should be easy its an option afterall, so will have all the looms etc ready to connect up. Just need to make sure you get all the bits you need.Do you mean that your car was not originally specced with AC or someone has removed is since the car was built?

Hi Paul, no it wasn't specced with aircon. Do you mean that your car was not originally specced with AC or someone has removed is since the car was built?

We bought it in January and didn't even check unfortunately. It's amazing how much you miss it when you haven't got it - even in winter.
