Why have'nt they been implimented in this country yet?

Having to physically drive around & find a parking space, then walk to the nearest Bank to withdraw money (some out of cash, so its a hike to the next cash point) Especially if it's lashing with rain & you're dressed to the 9s- not great.

I genuinely can't think why they have'nt crossed the pond to grace our shores yet.

Where's the benefit to the banks? Unless you mean making ones that charge you £1.99?

I'll agree with that.

Anyone who can't be bothered to walk a short distance to get some money doesn't deserve money.

The reason drive through cash machines are popular in the US is not just because they're exercise shy, in the Southern States its because its so bloody hot you dont want to get out of an air conditioned environment.

Not a problem we have in the UK, unfortunately.

I've still not got to the bottom of why there is braille on them mind...

biggrin
I did expect the lazy, fat American comments.

But still, I think it could be a good idea, especially if you're late, inconvienienced to get into the town centre or you don't know the area.

Nobody I know wants to get out of a nice warm, dry car & leg it to the cash machine when it's absolutely pelting it downhehe

BTW, yes, i'm on about the ones that charge £1.99 a go.

There used to be one at the Barclays at Hatton Cross, Heathrow. Last time I passed it was gone though.

There was a drive-through (yes, it's "through" not "thru") window at a bank in Watford in the '80s. Not sure which particular bank, but it was the one opposite Watford Junction.

I can't remember it ever being busy.

Sorry Dad

To my knowledge, there is nothing like that round these parts. I've never come across them in the UK- I thought they'd have caught on.

Oh wellbiggrin

Natwest I believe. I used to use that a lot. It not being busy was a good thing smile

I suspect due to the cost of the land. Think how much land you would need for a drive-thru cash point instead of a hole in the wall.

There's also braille on the side of the local carwash where you enter your number saying "press button for help" (or something similar).

Nope, escaped out of the passenger door on the far side, you can see the door opening right as the roof is falling towards the cab. Only half of the cab got crushed.
