With Sir Alan possibly facing a possible conflict of interest storm over his new position in government whilst working for the Beeb, who should take his place if he has to go?

Personally, Id like to see Duncan Bannatyne in the chair. I reckon he'd do it better than Sugar actually.

Though a good tongue lashing from Maggie could make for good TV too.

Shoot.

Why would there be a conflict of interest?

Diane Abbott has been a pundit and MP for years, for example.

Nope. I don't watch either.

I'm too busy reading the "Ambiwilans" thread.

Or perhaps Brian Blessed, to add some humour to a tedious program

Sir Alex Fergusn ought to be looking for an eventual replacement. I think Roy Keane would be very similar to the mouthy girl who made the top 3. Sir Bobby Charlton and Peter Schmeical could be his eyes and ears during the tasks.

Good to see Branson's not winning he's already done his version of Apprentice and it made the Apprentice look like a credible search for top class business prospects guided by a business luminary.....

Salary is too low IMHO it should be £500k or at least £250k only then would you get the interest of the top notch people.

Actually could even consider a £1m a year salary then you'd really get real competition not idiots where the winner doesnt even know what turnover is nor the difference between Gross & Net Profit....

I like it personally. I think the people that are picked to go on the show are picked for fairly obvious good reasons. Besides I like shouting at the telly when its on! biggrin

What I like about it is, I know next to nothing about business, yet how come I know what the idiots are doing wrong, yet they don't until Sralan tells them at the end? And I thought this years bunch were all total plonkers except Kimberly and James.

Didn't Peter Jones do an ITV version?

It has to be someone who thinks they are far better than they are, a bit deluded, and short(ish). What about Gordon Brown?
