Looking at going for a Noble

Hi all.
Okay im looking at getting a Noble very soon and just wanted to ask a few things:
1- can it be used as a every day car? as after 6 years with a TVR as my day to day car, i dont want to only have a weekend toy.( such a shame)
2- GTO, GTO 3 or GTO 3R which and why?
I think thats all

The amount of times we get this on here about Nobles, there is going to be a serious shortage soon.......yippee, that means they keep their value better.
GTO is an older car with the 2-5 litre engine
GTO-3 is newer with a 3-litre engine
GTO-3R is newer still with some mainly mods to the bodywork. me thinks.

Well for 35K you will get a very good 3R or maybe an M400.
The m400 is a more track orientated car than the 3R and has more power, the 2-5 ltr cars are the earlier cars and are worth up to early 20K GTO3's are going for early 20 - 25K and 3R 25K upwards.
I use mine GTO-3 whenever I can and it is fine, I personally wouldn't use it as a daily comute into somewhere like london but depends where you are driving to.
I know on the GTO-3 the service interval is 6000 miles and a service is 600-900 quid depending on where you get it done.
I know a lot of the lads have people they know and trust rather than a recognised noble dealer to service their car. It tends to be a bit of a relationship, you end up being married to them.

IMO it is just a car and like many others as long as it is routinely serviced and looked after you can use it as much or as little as you want. Why shouldn't it be used on a daily basis - what are your concerns?

As I am sure many will tell you - buy on condition and history not age/mileage.

I went from a T350 to a M400, love it and after having nitrons on the T350 i'd say the M400 is a softer more comfortable ride, I use the M400 most days aswell and its quite happy to do so.
Just buy the best looked after example you can find, if 35k is your budget you'll easy get a good 3R with some must do upgrades already done.

. I see no reason why any Noble can't be used as a daily driver just for me the M400 would not be my choice for every day driving. Suspension is hard and the car is clearly noisy - with a 60 mile commute and lots of time on the phone and travelling to clients it's not the best choice but could be done.thanks lads. it looks like the 3r will be the one to go for. it sounds like the 400 is a little to much of a track car.
i only do about 12k a year and work from home so, no driving into a city every day.
( i had nitrons on my Tiv, great but very very hard ride )
Did they all come with AC?

. I see no reason why any Noble can't be used as a daily driver just for me the M400 would not be my choice for every day driving. Suspension is hard and the car is clearly noisy - with a 60 mile commute and lots of time on the phone and travelling to clients it's not the best choice but could be done.Much easier to live with and drive than a TVR so more appropriate as a daily driver.
Just to add, the 2.5 is the lightest of the 3 so it's power to weight is not far off the GTO3. The 3r has a 6 speed box and lsd from what I know as well as the aesthetic differences.
The suspension is sublime compared to most cars, esp a TVR which I find hard.

Don't forget you also get a tighter turning circle, more comfy seats, less pedal offset and a much better gearshift which all make a daily commute a lot easier. The 3r and GTO are both fantastic road cars too though. Whichever you choose I think you will be happy.

g speed humps!I tend to go against the norm here having had a 3R and now a M400.There's nothing wrong with the 3R and you'll love it if you get one.However, the 400 for me is a far better car as an everyday proposition as well as being better on track (I don't track mine).Much,much better seats,better turning circle,more footwell room, more room around the transmission tunnel and a better gearbox linkage all mean I've used mine very day for 2 and a bit years fairly hassle free.I'm not quite convinced I could have done that in the 3R so easily. On the road I can hardly tell the difference in ride comfort, may be the more comfy seats disguise it.If your budget stretches I'd get the 400, if not get the 3R and in taking your time and picking a good-un you certainly won't feel short changed. Wonderful cars,nothing in the used car market will give you the same for the money.

I only asked about the daily drive, as i used to have an every day car and the tiv and each morning i wanted to take the tiv......... so i did and sold the other car. But some cars are just not cut out for it, and as ive said i only potter around each day, no hard city driving.
im sure i will think of other stuff.
