Just caught up with an ex of years ago, she was a great girl then. BUT has now turned into a climate camp attending, lentil eating cyclist. She is most upset with me as I am currently busy building a large coal fired power station. Says she will sail over to africa to chain her hippy body to my cranes! (She does not fly anymore hence the sail boat trip). Having great fun winding her up.

A hobby I get paid to do, there is something about concrete and steel that makes me feel like a little boy every day. Actually there are a few thousand of us out here in the bush near the Botswana border with SA, building what will be the largest dry cooled coal power station in the world when complete in a few years time.

My thoughts too. Shame when otherwise sensible people get caught out by the greencon. It must be like joining the moonies or some other cult.

He's attention seeking, he is deliberately trying to wind her up by building power stations to get her back. Classic case.

My current OH is going a bit mental over that youtube video called Home, anyone else been forced to watch it?

Its basically a load of info that has beeen around for a while, normal facts and stuff, been added to with some fantastic photography/film shots... down side is that the public are going green mental again by some media propganda. Got bked cause I fell asleep whilst it was on, so watched it later without her around to jump in every 2 secs about some comment (she was told the first time round to STFU or be gaffer taped as if Im watching it I dont need a commentary from you as well)....

Now someone has released a film called end of the line (blue fin tuna dying out in the next 3 years) and I have to watch that rather than see a nice action film/etc at the cinema.

Yet she doesnt mind if I fly to Finland for a long weekend to see her in July to celebrate my birthday.

I wish people would stop brain washing them and give people a chance to think and us normal folk the chance to do something normal for just a little bit of time, before the next green issue comes up and the media jump on the bandwagon.

You could always bury her in the foundations of said power station? That would really piss her off.

Nah, put her in the chimney, right next to all the evil planet killing CO2 that your evil filthy power station pumps out. That'll piss her right off.

I prefer the tried and trusted.... 'give me a better solution to help them instead of coal power station'.

They either say they havent got one and are stumped....

Or come up with solar/wind/water power, at which point you can tell them its not a developed country and has little resources/cash and you want to take what little it has and sqaunder it on a futuristic power supply instead of cheap and cheerful and the rest goes on food, etc for the population. At which point ask them if we can just cull them instead as it would be more humane than their idea of a slow death from starving whilst having the latest technology to power their lights so they can see who dies, safe in the knowledge that its green energy.

Sounds like a pretty impressive project, I hope to head towards the power generation industry when I'm finished with my Civil degree, I'd love to get in to nuclear plants.
