I'll be glad if I look anything like the photo on the ticket at the end of it

Ah yes, the worst piece of journalism I've seen for some time.

Try and find a hard fact that bears any relation to the headline.

The European monsoon is regular, but Wallace said that it was difficult to work out exactly why they strike each year. "It's so predictable it seems easy to understand - but it's not," he told The Times

in other words he talking bks, thanks for the link though smile

Is someone getting a little grumpy at the thought of spending a weekend with a foot pump? smile

Grumpy?

At the prospect of spending 5 days in the greatest place on Earth surrounded by amazing bands and even more amazing people?

Unlikely, all things considered.

Got my ticket about a month ago. Not long now, will be my 11th Glaso/Pilton in a row. Bring it on! Mud, rain, sun, whatever!

Had mine for a while now. It is sat on my desk next to my one for V. The picture is shocking, taken straight after a week spent snowboarding so I have a beard, big fuzzy hair and a dodgy Panda eye tan.

I can't wait. First time at Glastonbury. Looking forward to discovering a few new bands as I am not really going to see any particular act. I think that's the spirit.

Any kit list essentials from the seasoned Glastonbury go-er's?

Wellies have been leak tested, tent checked for mould, Camel-Back disenfected and a shiny new LED head-torch purchased.

Oooh ya bugger.

So you went last year?

This is my 10th. Last year was the first year I've missed since 97.

I didn't apply this year.

Have been the last two years. Very wet. Very muddy.

First year of very muddy was ok - quite a 'laff'.
Sunday was sunny - entranced by topless hippy joy and exuberance.

Second (last) year was not funny - again very muddy - but raining all weekend.
Hated the fu**ing hippies with their macs on.
Everyone was miserable.

Phaa.

Pity, last year was perfect weather wise, a welcome relief after 04' 05' & 07' rain.

Essential kit/advice for new comers:

Wellies or good boots.
Babywipes
Suntan lotion (you never know?)
Lots of beer/spirits/cider/wine/other
Money for food
A tent that can survive two days of heavy rain if need be.
Shades & hats
and a ticket, as it is not like the old days wink

Good luck with it.

Joyous when the weather is good.

Absolutely fking miserable when the weather is bad.

Had two bad years so I'm not envious.
