After taking a fall on the pushbike and bouncing the watch I usually wear, an old Tag F1, into the tarmac I think getting myself something that crashes a little better might be a good idea. rotate
I used to have a G-Shock when they first came out and would consider another, and quite like the look of the Seiko Air-Pro but they seem a bit hard to find, so any other ideas for a good all round hardy sports watch with a price point under £100. scratchchin

Discussed many times with "get a Seiko" or "have you looked at Werners?" being the virtually default responses.

Get a Seiko. Or have you looked at Werner's?

Sorry, just being predictable.

these are both a bit different to a Monster, and still pretty cool.

the yellow and black Seiko looks pretty striking, and would be cool as a sports watch.

edit: a picture of the black/yellow one:

pretty cool.

Not going to happen, although bikes have a habbit of damaging my watches, managed to scratch a Seamaster falling off one, I tried to break the fall by breaking my other arm though smash And now I've scratched the bezel of the F1.
I think a Monster might be a bit over budget but I'll have a look. I am thinking a G-Shock is the sensible choice though, not sure how bulky or 'crash proof' the Air-Pro would be. scratchchin

In my experience I have damaged my g-shock. Every other watch that I have ever owned has been damaged (building engines, rock climbing etc) but the g-shock is pretty resistant to pretty much anything. It went a little green when i spilt petrol on it but that soon went away.

Don't get this. If you're doing stuff that's likely to result in you smashing your watch, any old piece of crap will do. On that basis, can I recommend a Vostok. I bought one for reasons too lengthy to go into here, and it is almost certainly the worst mechanical wristwatch still in production. Use one to break your fall, and its demise will come as a blessed release.

I bought one of them from Werners and had Mrs bikemonster bring it back to Brightest Africa when she visited you lot on a business trip earlier this year.

I like it a lot. Gets lots of compliments, looks terrific and can't beat it for value. (Even though I spent a bit more than that for the same watch from Werners.)

Back to the OP's question...

If you're out riding your bike what do you need to wear a watch for? Use a bike computer with a clock, or strap a cheap plastic strapped digital watch on a piece of foam around the handlebar near the stem where it can't get bashed when you fall.

And stop falling!

Wouldn't really work that well due to the type of bike and the type of riding, a watch/clock strapped to the bike would last about 5 minutes. smash

If I make it home without falling I've not been trying hard enough. wobble

It's not so much about finding a 'cheap' watch it's more about something that will take the dive and not get scratched, smashed, stop working, etc...
Looking at TikToc's website I think a G-Shock is the way forward, it might have to be old skool like the one I used to have though, but still fancy an Air-Pro just because they look mad. paperbag

I have one, but it doesn't feel that hardy. Looks decent enough though!

The Astroavia/werners isnt robust I don't think.

Not so long ago someone posted a pic of theirs after they dropped it in a changing room. Not good.

Seiko.

Certainly not a werner's if you want something tough. They are lightweight and too fragile - there was a thread here of someone who dropped it on a tile floor and it smashed. G shock or a Seiko would be my novel and completely free suggestion. I love my watches but am more than delighted with the Monster which keeps better time at 4% of the price of my Swiss ones!
