I no longer own the Ultima so I've challenged my Ultima buddies to take the (cough) Production Car crown for the third time running.

Shirley this is crying out for a VMaxer to take the honours?

Sunday 16th August - Woodbridge Airfield (totally smooth strip)

http://fightingtorque.org/supercar/index.php?optio...

The modified class was won by a Granada I think, close to 200mph in the mile!!

BLKROKT and me had about 5 runs together in 2007. I always got away first, but he hauled me in every time.

I know a few Ultima will be there which should be in the 180s at least. Poss touching the 200 barrier!!

Go on all...I know you want to!!

+1. just got a mail from Colin to say that their attention will be turning to this event over the next week or so.

Whilst there can be no substitute for the VMAX, this comes a very close second!!

When they say 'winners' do they actually mean people who had the highest cobbled together numbers we think might be right(ish) as the timing system isn't working properly?

I hear there's a video pointing backwards from one car where the opponent in the other lane gets smaller and smaller until you almost can't see them....but they went through the 1 mile trap faster than the car in front. Errmmm.....

We were there and have no complaints about timing or accuracy, the Vbox agreed almost to the mile with their system, can`t comment on last year as wasn`t there.
But all the moaning about the event certainly kept the numbers down so we just filled our boots.
Car shared with Soph in her Astra and she creamed me with a 1/4 of 13.6 Mile of 34.2@149mph.

Good event, but a long distant second to Vmax IMO and its a shame that some of the top runners yesterday were trailer Queens.

Just to echo Jez, was a cracking day...Timing seemed fine for all my 15 runs! so no complaints. After the last VMAX when my limiter kept cutting in at 155, i'm happy to confirm it is now sorted and managed 31sec at 168.7mph standing mile in the VXR8(standard R35 GTR was 169-70mph) biggrin

All I need now is a rolling start and 2miles of runway......driving
