Sounds like it's getting tetchy between Peugeot and Audi.

DSC are reporting that Peugeot are still not happy with the R15, which passed scrutineering yesterday, and may go directly to the FIA with their complaint.

Could be an interesting few days.

It is, at the moment......

The ACO are meeting tomorrow to discuss it apparently, again, source DSC. Interestingly they say that Peugeot would get the French Federation to approach the FIA, not do it directly.

Can someone explain to me the FIA's position/standing with regards to Le Mans. I thought that the 24hrs the Le Mans Series and the ALMS all ran outside the jurisdiction of the FIA with the 24hrs being run/overseen by the ACO?

Anyone help to clarify?

Watching motors tv programme about Le Mans showing this evening, while I know it was altered for safety reasons, I hadn't realised the Mulsanne was altered because of an FIA regulation, for safety, that no circuit should have a straight of more the 2km in length.

I believe the rules & regulations are created by a group comprising of people from the ACO, FIA, manufacturers and some team engineers, so the FIA are involved ultimately.

At scrutineering today Peugeot also revealed a new front diffuser/nose setup on their 908:

audi too have changed alot to the car since Sebring. Changes to the air vent on front fender behind wheel, different rear wing shape, different turbo inlets, different nose channels only one instead of two.... should be a good race

Peugeot are doing it to themselves again, aren't they?

Last year, Audi outsmarted them, were supremely Teutonic to a typically Gallic Pug approach to problems in the race.

This year they're trying the Gallic approach before the race even starts, whereas Audi have again taken the Teutonic approach of stating the car is legal, it's passed scrutineering at Sebring & Le Mans and keeping schtum. Peugeot are trying their best to tear themselves apart and lose focus on the race before the race has even started.

RML are discussing it at the moment. Audi were there and setup ready to go on Monday morning, doing pitstop practice for 2 hours. Peugeot garage was a mess and the cars didn't appear until Tuesday. It's not rocket science this preparation business.

ACO have deemed the Audi bodywork legal..

Peugeot will now take their complaint to the FIA via the FFSA. Interestingly, Peugeot stated last night their complaint is with the ACO, not Audi.

Have a major team lost the race this early before? They're certainly trying.
