Entry to my boot via the cerbera badge has been getting more and more difficult...I have managed to get in and have left the boot open for now but was wondering if there is a common fault with these..?

Could it be the connections on the badge itself or more likley the solenoid that opens the boot...?

Is there a way of testing the badge connections...connecting a wire across them...if the solenoid clicks each and ecery time it would suggest its not the solenoid...

Thanks in advance

. . . had this with mine a while back. Try adjusting the torque of the bolts holding the badge to the bodywork - worked for me. biggrin

I havent looked inside the boot at the badge/switch set up yet...do you mean tighten the bolts up...? ...this will presumably mean the badge sits prouder of the body work allowing a better contact when pushed...?

Do the contacts get dirty?

Cheers

behind the boot badge is the same bitton thats on the wing mirrors,

mine has been slowly been getting harder to pop open and needed numerous presses to work the solenoid. i tightened up the bolts on the badge and tried slackening them off so i had more travel on the "press", I also put new springs on the legs as the old ones were rusted and had hardly any spring left in them but it made no difference.

I think its just a new button job or a take out and sand the surface rust of the terminals and try and get some WD40 inside the button.
