Can You Stay Awake Throughout An F1 Race

I thought it was just me who was lulled into sleep by the sound of F1 cars but a visit to my brother's last weekend saw us all nodding off. Okay, so Turkey wasn't the most gripping race but I'm rather ashamed to say that I catch a few winks during most of 'em.

Had an Australian student and the 'ring was closed for a crash. We went into the lobby bar at the Dorint to watch a GP on the big screen. Both of us were sound asloeep by the finish.

Yeah, but you fall asleep anywhere. I'm just surprised your student managed to stay asleep with all your snoring.

fell asleep at the GF's for the monaco race, but she had nodded off first and i think that made me sleepy. live timing and onboard channel kept me glued to the istanbul race (plus no GF)

valencia will be a struggle (even tho i'm going to be there...)

I find it very difficult to sleep when I am angry and frustrated, so listening to Legard's commentary more than alleviates the boredom generated by the most boring bits of a GP

It's called narcolepsy. Comes in handy at times. As for the snoring, sometimes it wakes me as well.

It's rare for me to sit though a complete F1 race these days without snatching a few zeds. I thought it was just me getting old and clapped out, but it seems I'm not alone. Hmm, surprising.

I fell asleep during Bahrain and Monaco, but I was quite tired and not much was happening on screen. It usually happens when Brundle goes quiet and Legard's fairy tale voice sends me to sleep ("Through turn 3, around turn 4, down through turn 5...").

I was having trouble keeping awake on Sunday whilst watching the 'procession'.

So I did my ironing whilst watching it.

That kept me awake!

I like the fact that Jenson is winning so much, I just don't like the fact that, in general, F1 races are incredibly boring nowadays!

Evening (recorded), no.

If wine is involved the answer is no, regardless of the time.

The funny thing is when I wind back to see the bit I've missed it nearly always turns out that I didn't miss it.

Do you guys who suffer this also fall asleep in front of other sports on TV?

You getting on a bit or something? I can easily stay awake through a GP, even after a heavy staurday night
