Tyres.....again

Anyone replaced their tyres recently and where did you get the best deal from ??

I picked up a pair of Toyo R888 for my rear not too long ago for about £180 each

Just bought a complete set of Toyo T1-Rs for my GTO-3 for less than £480 delivered from Camskill. I'm getting them fitted by a local mobile tyre fitter after the alloys have been refurbed.

The fronts are still the original Bridgestones and still have a decent amount of tread after 17k but the rears (P Zero Rossos) were shot after 7k. Looking for a balance between wear and performance with the Toyos.

Hi On my car it has Avon ZZR`s on front and rear. I dont really know the difference with the handling as opposed to other tyres however out of curiousity a couple of months back went on the Avon Web site and found the front ones at around £78 each and the rear ££99 each (cheap as chips )I dont quite know if the web page was a bit old though.

Any experience of tracking your cars with either the Toyo's or the Avon's????

I've only ever used the SO3's or the Pirelli Rosso's on mine but as usual the supply of the SO3's is proving difficult.

Anyone used the Pirelli Corsa's ????

I'm running Toyo T1Rs and have done a few trackdays with one at Bedford last year being extremely wet, standing water everywhere etc...
I've found them to be an excellent tyre, offering loads of grip and a very good wear rate. I can only compare them to the SO3s that were on the car when I got it and, to be fair, those were quite worn.
Would love to try out a set of R888s but I'm not sure the standard suspension would take the extra grip.

I think there was a thread about these a long while ago saying that they didn't suit the Noble very well. Maybe a search on this forum might reveal more.

I paid about £550 all in for 4 ( Goodyear F1 Asymmetric ) a while ago at kwik-fit.

i know goodyear had an offer on but i think its finished now. I was surprised at the price as well. I used to work at elite, they're worth a quote as they are normally cheaper than most but just as importantly they will look after your wheels, bolts and wheelarches! They hold over a million pounds worth of tyre stock so get very good deals from the suppliers.

i ran 888's on standard gto3 suspension with no probs on trackdays, just huge levels of grip and lots of fun

got some 888 rears from camskill recently - about £320 delivered, good service

i have a set of Toyo T1Rs once bedded in they are great

i think they make a good road/track tyre combination

not tracked the noble but used toyo on my cossie and evo and found the t1s a bit of a handful mainly because of the soft sidewalls.the t1r it replaced imo was a far superior tyre .when warm the grip was superb.you can still get them if you ask.ive got the t1r on the noble but doubt they will ever get used in anger

I think the car im buying has Potenzas on it, whats the general thoughts on those?

If only that was true in my experience..... the last two times I have used them they have damaged my wheels (they admitted that they had) or lost wheel nut washers.
I wont be using them again.
