Trying to gain an insight and knowledge before I start my quest. Anyone willing to show me round and give pointers on what to look for etc. greatly appreciated.
I've read all the buying threads I can.
regards
Allan.

Hi Allan

I'm not too far away in Dunfermline with a '91 348 tb. Unfortunately, I have very little spare time at the moment to meet up to let you have a look. Happy to answer any questions you have if I can though, send me a PM.

Carlo at Top Gear Specialist Cars near Edinburgh has a '91 ts on his website shown as coming soon. He usually stocks excellent cars (mine came from him) and is not too far for a look.

If you have not already done so, you should sign up over on Club Scuderia which has loads of info about 348's.

I bought mine from The Ferrari Centre - Complete other end of the country from you.

There cars are prepared by Kent High Performance Cars - I was happy to buy mine without seeing it based on their reputation.

The car was perfect and I have done over 4000 miles in the last 10 months without any problems - Tony Cornwall was the guy I dealt with.

They gave 3 months warranty.

They have a few in stock - definately worth a look.

There is another reasonably local 348 for sale by one of the Club Scuderia members that might be of interest to you. Advert is on E-bay item no 140324235260. It has had loads of money spent on it and when I saw it last August/September, it looked in really great condition.

Yeah, I don't get that one - he's a chap on here isn't he? It's been around for some time in the ad's.....is it just too 'modded' for the price? I'll be honest I prefer the original grill and wheels but he has those.........I think it looks quite nice, just 6 months too early for me!

Yeah, saw that one too. I like the original back also.Just keeping an eye out at the moment. I quite like the white one , although may need a few things sorted along with the wheels, as it's not been used much.

I've got a completely original late front-battery model 348TS 27,000m red/cream in Aberdeen.

Whilst I had no immediate plans to replace it.....everything's for sale at a price (perhaps later this year)smile

PM me if you want to see it anyway and I'll bring it down to say Forfar one sunny day

Cheers

JP

PS If anybody from "The Ferrari Centre" is looking - the plate may be surplus to requirements wink

Too modded? Not really.

It has had different wheels and grill put on for purely cosmetic purposes and he has the originals. To put back on is a very easy job.

It has the carbon interior trim which is nice. Even the start button, although unnecessary, is quite a nice touch.

The main point is that it is a top condition GTB for a bloody great price!

In my opinion, seeing as there are less and less 348s out there (about 13 in the classifieds versus 53 or so 355s) good ones will only hold or increase in value.

I would have that one like a shot ... if I didn't already have one smile

That's not you Stig is it? (as in who bought my previous 348 Spider?).

I'm presuming not as you're the wrong end of the UK, but "Stig" and "Stiglet" are close enough to warrant the question smile

Sadly not. My on-track abilities (or lack of them)as demonstrated in hillclimbs and sprints necessitates the " 'let " at the end of my username wink

My 348 was sourced locally (Aberdeen) about 3 years ago - but I can't quite recall where the previous owner got it.

Great cars though - just wish I used it more often (kids, Scottish weather, motorsport............workfrown )

Cheers

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a lovely car but it has been knocking about on the classifieds for a good while now and I was wondering if people were put off by the interior chages, or the price - thats all!

Well, all I can say is that, if all is as it looks, someone is going to get a GTB for a hell of a good price.

I would not let my LHD '93 TB go for much less than £25k. It's good, but not as good as that GTB!

I agree. Very under valued.

I wouldn't sell mine for less than £30K
