Right forum -if not please feel free to move .

The Bank rate is low -or so the banks tell us .Now I was made redundant recently and being a bit on the old side decided that I would opt for Pension Credit rather than Jobseekers Allowance .All went well till we got to the bit about redundancy pay -which took my "savings " above £6k . This means that ,according to HMG , I should be able to get £1 per week interest for every £500 savings I have .
HMM- £1 /week in interest = £52 per year .
On £500 that = 52/500 = 10.4% .

Now ,Mr Darling, please PLEASE point me in the direction of a SAFE scheme that pays this much interest ( and not one with HMG /or Icelandic strings) -might tell my pension fund to stick some of my pot in there too.
