Chaps the wedge ( 200 ) has been laid up for 6 months or so , so with the battery pack and a can of easy start I attacked it last night. Turned over fine and eventually caught then died then caught etc.
The last time I drove it I think a little water had got into the fuel through my makeshift petrol cap - so I can only imagine that won't help and has got a whole lot worse. So whats the best way to drain the fuel?

Should I a) use the pikey/south london ( don't worry I am irish and live in south london so I can say that ) method of just syphoning from the filler opening.
b) is there a drain plug that comes off easily ( given that it's a wedge I imagine a wine cork setup!)

Also do I just disconnect the fuel line from the carb to get the line fuel out?

mental note : no smoking during this operation

Thanks Fellas.

you should be able to disconnect one of the hoses going to the swirl pot, and catch in a bucket.

if you drain via the pump and disconnect the fuel line to the carb, you many block the pump of filter with rust etc. I do it this way on the racer, but everything is new, so I know Im not going to drag up anything. (the racer does not have a fuel gauge so I do this so I know how much fuels goes in and out.)

Just take the pipe off the inlet side of the fuel filter and drain into a pan/bucket/bath Tempus smile

I just did the fuel filter on the jeep which made a small puddle on the road, so I had to set light to the road (after moving jeep out of the way) to make sure it was all burned off!

Funny watching a road burning for 4 minutes or so....
