Best in what respect. Compared to a Suzuki Splash or a Kia Sportage then I would be in agreement. Compared to a Veyron or a Renault Megane then its debatable!

What happened to the turbo? or are you using that to boast your own self-importance.

OK, as Jim says it depends what context you're talking! Wouldn't be much good for my family, or somebody commuting to London every day, 'The best car' is a very strong statement!

Errmm.... aren't you being a little harsh? Unless I'm missing something that's gone before, the OP is just sharing his happiness in his P&J.

We've all been there, haven't we? A wee bit exuberant?

lol.. thanks guys.. yes and no! I have had the oppertunity to drive many many cars & imho (and yes slightly prejudiced as she is my baby) that the vx220 is one of the finest cars I have driven.. (turbo would have doubled my insurance for an extra 0.5 seconds 0-60) But yes ok a veyron is a weapon!

60.7mpg eek

I'm lucky to get 50mpg from my 1.9TDi rolleyes, note to self - check boots for lead weights!

200,000 miles = thumbup

To the OP - looks good, nice to see someone proud of their wheels!

You're getting a little bit more than just that for the extra insurance; the turbo is much quicker in-gear than the standard NA.

Just enjoy your VX for what it is - a lightweight sports car with great handling and feedback.

Have you had much experience of RWD before?

i know its a "hairdressers car" but only people who havnt driven one say that & it was a great car.. 2001 mx5 1.8 (had for about 2 years).. sideways everywhere but the vx220 is a very different beast.. had her about a year now.. was planning for the courtney supercharger or an astra vxr lump transplant but the bank seems to conspire against me!

You're all wrong about the colour, and mine's definitely more than 0.5 seconds quicker than the 2.2 to 60mph wink

But more seriously, looks lovely -- take care with it, they will bite in the wet if you don't respect it. Learn to drive it before you make it go faster. I bought my 2.2 VX aged 23 as my first performance rear-wheel drive car. I'm pretty sure that if I'd bought a VXT at that point it would have ended up in a hedge within the first six months.
