Jacking up a Tamora

sorry but had to spin off another thread on this subject as the
search 'library' is under maintenance.

gonna purchase a trolley jack and a couple of stands,
also be interested to know the SAFE jack points, think I
have seen a diagram knocking around so as not to bend
something...!!

Also says:-

Jacking points I do same as my dealer and jack on the 4 corner chassis/body tub screws with a thrust pad fitted to distribute the load

Jack on the bolts on the outriggers. There is a diagram on Grahams Pages. I also use a thick exhaust hanger with the middle cut out to push over the bolt so it does not damage the pad on the trolly Jack when lifting

thanks for the tips, will any trolley jack do (ie. from Halfords)
or is the clearance and issue so special jack required ?

Best buy a 'low entry' jack otherwise it will not go under without driving on to blocks to increase ground clearance. Clarke do a Jack for about £50

when jacking up the front, can you go in under the bib and find a jack
point and lift the front of the car in one go, place the stands in a
suitable location so front remains elevated ! or is it corner by corner
which don't sound good to me...

Same Jack as I have, good quality and works a treat. Don't know about jacking under the front dont think you can do it as there is nowhere to place the jack pad and it's too low to get the jack under!!. I have two jacks and enlist the help of the wife to lift the other side before putting the stands under

Lump of 3x2 under each front wheel and i can get my low trolly jack under the cross member the one with the towing eye and likt the whole car and then put the stands under the long chassis rail.
As for the rear 2 pieces of wood again and i jack the car up on the diff then stands again.
Prefer this method than corner to corner.

I bought my trolley jack from Halfords and it fits under our T350 (just)! Also got my axle stands from there, all working well so far.

I bought one recently from Wicks and its the same as the Halfords one, just fits under the Tam. Take a look, I dont know how they do it for £3.66!

got me jacks... very good.... but no pressure pads, what
could I use or can you purchase them ?

I just uesed a square cut from an old mountain bike tyre.

Exhaust rubber if jacking on the bolts as it fits over them, or tyre as suggested.
