I've got a couple of VXR 6.0 lined up to look at one Red one Black - both are around the same spec - not a million miles different on price - so its probably going to come down to colour...

I keep changing my mind which i prefer - so what are other peoples thoughts on the colours ??

I ruled out Silver as i think it will be hard to keep the stone chips in check without the bumper looking spotty, and then probably difficult to match if i wanted it resprayed - are there any pro's and con's to Red and Black with touchup.

Thoughts appreciated

Dean.

Go for Red, My cars never dirty or should its cleaned as soon as i see a layer of dust on it.
Blacks a nightmare it shows every spec of dirt and dust.
I'll never buy a black car again.
But Red looks faster lol

Difficult one.

Obviously down to your own personal taste so no point asking here !!.

Look good in red (even though I don't really like red cars my last two have been red somehow confused). Look great in black but a bugger to keep clean.

So - answer ? - don't know.

my honda is black which is a pain to keep looking respectable, my bmw is silver which is easy to keep clean but i have noticed silver is getting sooo common these days, my Ro is red which is easy to keep clean and i colour my stone chips in with a red sharpie pen which is an exact match. i also think they look at their best in red biggrin

Black if you have a dark sinister side! Surely the epitome of a true musclecar? scratchchin

Red if you are an extrovert no?

As most people have commented, it's all down to your own opinion, I've had car's in all 3 colours. Any car, bike, truck etc looks good in black no doubt but is a pain in the backside to keep clean, scratches stand out a mile and even the smallest dent looks massive. Red looks OK for a while but I don't think the paints colour lasts very well and tends to fade / look pinkish. Silver cars, common yes, but for a reason, easy to keep clean as they don't look dirty, as for stone chips / resprays, get the proper touch up / paint colour, bit of lacquer, job done. Best colour I think is Silver

I went for silver for the reasons mentioned by tattooboy. Contrary to what some might believe it does shine up well and is very sparkly with the sun on it.

Strangely, my car and GSE's are the same age but quite different shades of Quicksilver and neither of them has been repainted.

Silver is pretty common, yes, but not when it is Monaro-shaped.

I went for silver because it does blend in. I didn't fancy coming back to a car park and finding a key run down a lovely red 'ro. I thought red would have attracted unwanted attention. Black in my opinion is too subtle. Silver shows the lines well. My 2 cents....

Black is the best colour once clean but to keep it clean is hard, which is why i went for red. With regard to paint fading i think to ro's have a more modern clearcoated finish as apposed to the old singlestage paint that used to be used. So they red paint on a ro should not fade.

Ohhh! you hurt my feelings.. Admittedly your car does look mint. You must have polished that hard coz even the drain cover is reflected in the bonnet!

I planned to keep the 'Ro and didnt fancy it in pink. I should by rights have bought primer, but I went against my own advice to never buy a black car.

Just as i convince myself i want one colour something changes my mind..

The black looks so deep - and i love detailing so keeping that way should be no problem - i then look out in my office car park and i see

Black BMW 5 series
Black Audi A6
Black VX Signum

And i think RED !!

Though i shall probably change my mind again...
