The crown no longer tightens on my super ocean, the watch still works perfectly though.

So I popped into my dealer this morning to ask about a repair (its only 6months old), they took a quick look at it and said it'd have to go back which normally takes six weeks.

Just wondering if theres anywhere else i can go to get things done quicker without voiding my warrenty?

As far as I'm aware, you can't. Most warranty's stipulated that any non-manufacture work carried out on the watch invalidates their warranty. If you took it elsewhere, the chances are that the crown will need to be replaced and even if the watchmaker could get the part (unlikely) he's charge you for the crown and fitting.
Most manufacturers will prioritise warranty work, so there's every chance it might not take 6 weeks if you go direct to Breitling UK.If I were you I'd make a quick call to Breitling UK on 0207 636 5200 and arrange to send the watch for attention of the service manager for prompt correction.

Hope this helps,

DH

Exactly the same thing happened on my Super Avenger
However about 1 month out of warranty ( the thread on the crown had stripped)

£300 later and about 8 weeks

Was all fixed and looked like it was brand new again

You should also get a nice little travel case for it.

If it's under warranty I would wait for it as is is likely to cost many hundreds of beer vouchers to have it dealt with yourself.

My brother has had the same problem on his Breitling. The crown has broken twice, luckily under warranty. A girlfriend of mine had the same problem with her Breitling too.

I would try and get your warranty extended, due to the fact that you have been unable to wear the watch whilst it is being repaired.

On the second breakage, my brother wrote a letter of complaint to Breitling. Response? Nothing. When he queried their lack of response with the shop where he purchased the watch, they stated that Breitling do not respond to customer letters!!

Just had a Breitling serviced, took 3 1/2 weeks. They're not busy at the moment and this was through a jeweller, not contacting the factory direct.

Sounds like crown stripped, pretty POOH for a SuperOcean TBH. Although my 1996 model has fallen to bits several times (bracelet/bezel), never lost any of its watertight sealing.
