Found a thread in the TVR forum about it (posted by Nef who passed the news onto us at the evo forum).

I always loved his cars and admired his sense of what sports cars should be. Its a sad loss and I just hope we one day see more people like him.

This might be a bit premature, but if anyone knows when the Funeral is, we might have an organised "show of appreciation" by TVR owners around the world.

Something along the lines of a 'Gentlemen start your engines' kind of thing.

I think Peter would have appreciated it.

The TVRCC are in contact with the family and discussing what they would like.

Peter and His Family were private poeple. So we should all respect their wishes as to how we should mark his passing.

We all want to show our respects, But its his family who are the important people in all this

Nice Idea Mind...

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

It is a sad loss to the TVR and automotive community.

I will remember him every time my car starts. R.I.P Mr Wheeler

One of the true individuals.

We were all lucky his individuality and vision gave us most of the TVRs we enjoy today. I endured a wait of eleven years before I finally got to own one of his cars, from which I shall not be parted.

Mr Wheeler, I thank you.

RIP and thoughts to his family.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him but love the stories people who have met him can tell and the way in which he always came across as a true gentlemen in interviews too. I always remember his dog being a part of the TVR family too - partially responsible for the Chimaera front indicator design? Or was this a myth?
