Thats so sad, always admired the man who owned TVR and took part in the races as well.

Definitely the end of an era but Peter Wheeler's family and friends must be proud of PW's enormous achievement in making TVR a true icon in the world of sports car design and engineering. It's a shame that the rather self-indulgent Autosport editorial seems to think it is a priority at this time to remind us (repetitively) about TVR engine fragility than to focus on the actual significance of the contribution Peter Wheeler made. Thanks, PW, for the driving pleasure, surging adrenaline and for hours of polishing.

I always had the dream to meet him in person one day.

A shame that this one will be a dream forever.

Thanks for a bunch of wunderful cars. Although I am German they really do keep the British way of live present and Mr. Wheelers spirit on our roads. RIP

Björn.

Oh dear, how sad. I only met him once. I was as a spotty teenager, drooling over a 350i on a motorshow stand. It was clear to him that i hadn't a clue, or any money, but he took time out to tell me all about the car. I'll never forget that, & i've admired him ever since.

A great man R.I.P

Very sad day - without Peter who knows what we'd be having to drive. Great guy who built a great firm, shame he sold it.
