HI im a complete newbie, Just brought a ferrari 360 1999 with 24k miles and one owner since new.. the car is immactualte and just had a full service from manello in the book 5 months ago.

It runs like a dream... i bloody love it, although i was so excited i thught i was going to pass out/have an anxiety attack.

One thing i am concerned about however is...... When i leave it overnight or form a lo9ng period i get in, turn the immobiliser off and turn the ignition it doesnt roar to life streaight away some times i have to reapeat the process again and again... on one occasion it did actually start and i had to use jump leads

Is this normal? am i damaging the ignition sytstem? How can i fix it so it just starts?

Any help will be much apprechiated.

Thanks

Relax, put a decent battery in, bosch silver from Eurocarparts or GSF.

You battery doesnt have enough juice to crank it over, mine did the same until i changed the battery. It fires into life within two seconds now!

Have you considered buying a trickle charger if you leave it for long periods?

are these not the same batteries then?

Would there be any implications on getting one from there?

Thanks

I bought an optimate and had to attach it if i left the car for more than three days without using it.
Since i fitted the bosch silver i've left the car two weeks without the trickle charger and it fires on the button.

I fitted a BatteryBrain to mine. Works perfectly. If I leave the car unused for some weeks there's always enough juice to get going.

Optimate is the way to go. You can wire it in or stick it through the fag lighter on the 360
