Having enjoyed my last 4 years of cerbera ownership and admiring such a well sorted car in comparison to the other TVR models I 've owned since the 90s, my 3 year old son and his little friend raided the key rack and gained access to my pride and joy. After what I can only assume was a least 5 mins of unauthorised entry I spotted the little blighters (following excessive use of the horn) and reprimanded them suitably.

Later that day it was time to take my teenage daughter back to boarding school some distance away. A beautiful sunny day, I settled into the driving seat and started her up. My daughter came to the the passenger door pressed the button under the wing mirror, clicking noises but the door wouldnt open, hmmmm, the only alternative was to crawl accross the drivers seat. 20 mins later we turned up at school I got out, dear daughter surruptisiously (I know that's the wrong spelling but there's no spell check!) climbed out, luckily no 6th form boys watching. I walked to the back of the car, pressed the badge to open the boot for access to half a terms worth of luggage, nothing (not even clicking). went back to the driver door, pressed button under the mirror, clicking but no door release. Well luckily I'd left the window open so could pull the manual entry toggle. Messed about with the immobiliser keys, fob buttons, didnt help.

Another father (owner of an Aston, but he'd brought the Mercedes that day) pulled his virgin boot apart looking for his tool kit (to help me gain entry the way that can't be published on line) to discover it must have been an optional extra. In the end the well equiped house mistress produced a comprehensive tool kit to aid my entry to daughter's clothes, IPOD, laptop and other unimportant items.

A week later I'm thinking of doing something about it. Does anyone have any advice, had this problem?. The car starts and all other electrics work fine. Just can'nt get in the usual way.

Were the 3 year olds responsible. I do remember hearing somewhere you can do funny things with the black and red button to reset the electrics etc. and the blighter did have the fob!!

If it is affecting both doors and the boot, then it's most likely to be the control box in the boot.

Can it be reset or fixed or is it a replacement. The clicking noise confused me as that would indicate the door solenoids were trying to work ? Initially it was only the passenger door, the boot and drivers door became faulty later.

Thanks

Maybe your little ones have fiddled with the key immobiliser, or the interior door lock button? I have to say I did think that the boot release/relay was separate to the door, so quite possibly a separate issue.

Will try the suggestions, is the control box in the boot or behind the helmet holder?

On top of the fuel tank (so in the boot).

Unplug & wait 30 seconds to reset. smile

WARNING! Be sure to mark all the connections up before you unplug them from the control box! See other posts about this on here! I speak from experience. I have also had problems whith the connections on the control box where i thought i'd got a faulty box but after testing all the inputs and outputs it turned out to be multiple bad connections. Worth keeping in mind before replacing things.
