As per title really, does any one know the correct tracking settings for a 04 Tuscan. Standard unmodified road car?

Let me get this clear these are the standard settings. I know nothing about these values it is just that the steering rack has been replaced and I need to get it all set up again and the garage has asked me for the settings.

Front Caster Left 4°
Front Caster Right 4°

Camber Left 0.75° negative
Camber Right 0.75° negative

Toe Left 0° +/- 0.01°
Total 0° - Parallel +/- 0.02°

Rear Camber Left 0.75° negative
Rear Camber Right 0.75° negative
Toe-in Left 0.07° +/- 0.01°
Toe-in Right 0.07° +/- 0.01°
Total 0.14° +/- 0.02°

Are we missing a Front Toe Right from the standard?

But the recomended settings are as follows?

Front Caster Left -4°
Front Caster Right -4°

Camber Left -1° negative
Camber Right -1° negative

Toe Left 0° +/- 0.01°
Total 0° - Parallel +/- 0.02°

Rear Camber Left 0.75° negative
Rear Camber Right 0.75° negative
Toe-in Left -12° +/- 0.01°
Toe-in Right -12° +/- 0.01°
Total -24° +/- 0.02°

Sorry I still am unsure if I have understood it correctly. Its just that 12 sound like a lot (would it not scrub the tyres) and then it was questioned about toe in / out.

What is the difference between "front caster left" and "toe left"?

what is the 4 on the end of "camber -1,4"?

But this is what I make it (Corrected for toe in (+) / out (-))

Front Caster Left -4° (Toe Out)
Front Caster Right -4° (Toe Out)

Camber Left -1° negative
Camber Right -1° negative

Toe Left 0° +/- 0.01° (Dont under stand this and caster)
Toe Right 0° +/- 0.01° (Dont under stand this and caster)
Total 0° - Parallel +/- 0.02°

Rear Camber Left -1° negative
Rear Camber Right -1° negative
Toe Left -12° +/- 0.01° (Toe Out)
Toe Right -12° +/- 0.01° (Toe Out)
Total -24° +/- 0.02°

12 min per wheel toe-in at the rear is not that much, don't worry.
All values are toe-in (wheels should point inwards), forget about the minus sign.

Caster and toe-in is totally different; I'd leave the caster alone for now and focus on the tracking (toe-in) and camber. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caster_angle)

The 4 is a decimal; you English would write it as 1.4

so, again:
Front track Left 4 minutes (Toe in)
Front track Right 4 minutes (Toe in)
total track front 8 minutes (Toe in)

front Camber Left -1 degrees
front Camber Right -1 degrees

rear track Left 12 minutes (Toe in)
rear track Right 12 minutes (Toe in)
total track rear 24 minutes (Toe in)

Rear Camber Left -1.4 degrees
Rear Camber Right -1.4 degrees

Also, don't worry if the values are slightly different, it's difficult to get exactly these values. E.g. toe-in per wheel front of 5 or 6 is also OK; front camber of -0.9 or -1.2 is still fine.
I ended up with almost -2.0 degrees camber at the rear, but it's great.

Caster is not on adjusters, I have heard of people shimming the upper
balljoints but have left that well alone myself.
Generally Tivs are about 4degrees of caster and I accept that as sort of OK
I would prefer 5 degrees in an ideal world but what the hell.

This is not a cure all set-up under discussion, most of the specialists have their own preferences but the factory had a play in 2005 and decided to run more rear camber and toe in and I reckon it works ok on general road use and the front end is fairly benign with 0.75ish degrees of neg camber and 8-12 minutes toe in.

I like a fairly agressive turn in myself and run 2.0 degrees of neg camber on the front with parallel toe but would the average daily driver fancy that?
I don't think so, "different strokes for different folks"

From what I've read a -ve toe-in means that the leading edge of wheel actually points outwards
Or put another way, the imaginary lines drawn through the wheels meet behind the wheels for -ve toe in and in front for +ve toe in
Did I get it wrong?

correct; in this case they should meet in front of the wheels (front of the car).

So as these are quoted as -ve toe in they are in fact toed out
Ie wider at front than rear

No, as explained above the minus sign is a mistakem, it should be +.
So, the wheels should point towards each other at the front of the car, so you need toe-in (not toe-out):

http://www.ozebiz.com.au/racetech/theory/align.htm...

Just tell the guy doing your geo you need toe-in, he will know what to do.
