I own a 1996 F355 Berlinetta, 5.2 motronic, airbag model, which has been driven alot for a Ferrari, 60500 miles now, to be precise.

But it has been maintained meticulously and serviced on schedule. Regularly has bodywork attended to, and also all interior leather items maintained in top condition.

What do Ferrari and non-Ferrari owners think about this mileage?

I envisage it will have 100k in the clock in the next 5 years plus, very uncommon for a Ferrari.

I sold my F355 a few weeks ago with 42000 miles on the clock.
It had a full history of regular maintainence and servicing and it ran like a dream during the two and a half years I owned it. Great car.

There are so many "low mileage" 355's you do have to do a bit of a Jimmy Hill Chin as frankly it nonsense. Same as Testarossa's. Some people will turn their noses up, but I think fair play for using it smile

My view is good on you for using it that much, theses cars are made to be driven. The problem is however, that many people see high mileage as a sign that the car will have problems in the future. Obviously this is utter nonsense, as someone already said a car that has been used, but maintained will be better than a car that has a low mileage but patchy maintenance. My only issue with buying an exotic car (Ferrari, Lambo etc) with a higher mileage is although it doesn't bother me, it may limit resale. That would be my only issue with it.

Anyway well done for using the car like it should be. They are great cars, I've had mine for a few months now and I literally can't stop smiling.

i see no reason why mileage like that on a ferrari should be a barrier to entry.

if the car runs well and has been maintained properly then buy it.
I've done 23k in my 360 in the 2 years i've owned it.
it's been serviced on the button by people who know their stuff and has been more reliabkle than i could have dared to hope.

It feels better now than when i bought it.
I'm not even close to Bebs mileaqe but it proves that these cars can be driven and enjoyed the way they should be.

Agreed. I've got 43k on mine now and it goes like a train!
To hell with mileage. Just stay on top of maintenance and enjoy it.
I intend to keep mine and will be taking a photo of the 100k mark when it eventually arrives!

Mate, a quick question, with the mileage you do what would you say are your average running costs p/a. I always kept my miles low due to resale/maintenance fears etc. Hopefully you'll prove my fears misfounded.

Cheers

Assuming sensible price and condition, I would prefer a "well used" car to a low mileage one. Partly because I tend to pile the miles on and also get cars filthy, but also because in my experience garage queens have more problems than daily drivers.

My Tuscan was totally reliable until it became an every-other-weekend-car, and now I'm using it regularly again it is all the better for it.

Beats me. Insurance is not too bad, petrol is a fortune. Other than that, regular servicing. Latest issue is the voltage regulator. £500 from ferrari or about £50 for a replacement part and roughly 2 hours with a spanner. Running costs seem to be largely dependent on how willing you are to get grubby yourself IMHO and I am useless with a tool set.

Sadly it seems that many put a low mileage above all else. Having just had my 87 911 layed up in storage for a year, I am now paying the price in putting things right.

If it was me the last thing I would want is a 13 year old car with no miles on it, I gaurantee that it would cost a packet to get back up to scratch. Rather a car that was used and everything kept lubricate and moving.
