Best celebrate early (and lavishly) and also note possible LMs dates for Classic + 24hrs for family planning purposes (if applicable).

If you look at the last 10 years none of the logic of 2nd week in June, 24 week of the year, father's day or anything else works consistently.

It's down to the ACO and the Mayor of Le Mans to give his consent to the roads being shut.

you'll just have to go to the N24 or the TT instead Andy!

But it didn't this year though.

I understood that it was the weekend before the summer solstice?

Do you have to be a ACO Member to buy the tickets?

Cheers Chaps.

Ok so is that with 100% certainty that it will be on the 12th & 13th for 2010?

I'm having to look into this as somebody wants time off in June 2010 and I've just looked at the last 20 years and there is no pattern with week 24 or 2nd weekend in June etc.
If we go with 2nd weekend in June for 2010 it will be 12th & 13th but if we go with week 24 then it will be 19th & 20th.

Anybody help scratchchin

I go with the solstice thing based on the dates for the past 10 years. Weekend prior to the 21st(or 20th if applicable). That would make it the 18/19 June.

It has been as late as 18 June. I know because 18th is my Son's birthday and we were there. It was Father's Day too...yes, my Son was born on Father's Day a good number of years ago! (Well timed Mum and Son, doubly proud Dad!) In fact, I seem to think it was 1996 and the joint celebration was the reason for our visit that year, our first trip to Le Mans, now an annual pilgrimage for both of us.

I'll speculate it will be 19/20 June for 2010, almost right on the solstice.

Exactly - there is no pattern, it is likely to be either the second or third week of June but there isn't any certaintt.

Plus, the World Cup is on at the same time, which might tempt them to do something unexpected to avoid a clash with a big game.
