Right, here we go with some of my photo's from today. It was the first time I'd ever been to Brize so I think I was rather spoiled today for choice.

Plenty of VC10 action all day, and yet another two took off when I was just getting back to the car!

Have plenty of shots of XH558 plus some of the other visitors/participants. I must apologise though for the Hurricane and Spitfire pics, had the camera on the wrong settings!! Doh !!

The one thing that really stood out for me though, apart from a sideways wobble on takeoff for 558 was the immense power climb after liftoff, most enjoyable and reminiscent of the good old days [biggrin]

Anyways enough waffling, on with the photo's, hope you enjoy [biggrin]

Your wide angled shot (third from last) of 558 is very good indeed!

Excellent work, Sir!

Can I be cheeky and ask what kit you used for your pics?

Pretty sure I must have seen XH558 flying near RAF Lyneham on Sunday evening while travelling between Swindon and Chippenham on the M4.
My mate sat in the back shouted excitedly that it was a stealth bomber rolleyes I kindly corrected him that it looked more like a Vulcan bomber due to its shape. Needless to say he hadnt a clue what a Vulcan bomber was or looked like anyway, but he does now biggrin

The Vulcan had to divert to Lyneham due to a problem with a Tristar at Brize Norton, she will be there until tomorrow I believe when she will return to Brize.

I use a Canon 1D as body and the Canon 100-400L + 1.4x L series converter for most of the shots. The wide angle pictures were taken with the Canon 17-40L lens.

Actually this is my favourite - there is no hint of motion in the image - she simply hangs there, in an impossible position. With more of the landscape in the shot and individuals standing themselves, this is emphasised superbly.

Great photos
