Im just signing up to pkrdotcom. Just wondering what the general consensus is of it. Fun? Profitable? Financially Dangerous, etc.

All of the above.

I won about £100 at one point then I blew it paperbag

Crap. Lost it all on one hand to some high roller in France, the odds were in my favour but he was a lucky bugger.

Can play free games aswell, which is a bit more easy going wink

I used Titan Poker, and PKR.

Dave.

Yes, lots. If you play the phase sit & go tables you can get a lot of playing without it costing a lot. There is a critical mass of people so you'll always find plenty of people to play against. You need a moderately to well-specced PC for it to look good.

There are free tables but it changes the way everyone plays.

You can send them photos of yourself so that your avatar looks like you. If you'd only ever played me on PKR and then met me you'd recognise me. Although I suspect most of the online female characters playing are male.

If you want mail me and I can join you as a friend, then we both get $50 credit.

People who have lost money will tell you the companies rig the games, as an ex-employee of a company I can tell you they don't.

I'm sure the British / Gibraltar sites are fair but some of the Khanawake regulated sites are very dodgy. Ultimatebet, one of the biggest online sites since the US ban, actually admitted that "unfair play" took place and I have no confidence in any site that admits US players. I have played since 2003 and I always felt that the games were straight (I played mainly at Paradise prior to the ban). After the US ban I played at a number of sites and the difference in the deal is noticeable IMO. Play at ipoker sites or 888 (which are ok) and then at UB or Stars and tell me the deal is the same. wink

I should add that I made one $50 deposit at Paradise at the start and have never paid in since, using the winnings in my Neteller account to fund my play, although I hardly play now.

I play. Make sure you get rakeback at PKR although you're probably too late rolleyes

Fun sometimes, annoying at others - but it's a love/hate thing with me. Financially dangerous? Treat it as a hobby and it's only dangerous if you make it so. Profitable? If you play well, yes. If you play bad - no.

Depends how much time you're willing to put in and if you're any good.
