Problems with V8 engine - R8 & RS4

I read somewhere that these engines suffer from carbon build up..(means nothing to me - too technical)and as a result, never produce the stated power figures. I was also told by a rolling road outfit, that all the RS4s he had put on the rolling road, most of them produced 375 instead of the 414bhp stated - and inorder to get it up to the 410 mark you have to tune it. Anyone here who can shire some light?
It has something to do with the FSI side of the engine. Talk to MRC tuning who have designed and new breather system to stop it happening. Big thread about it here http://audisrs.com/about5000.html
