A huge lift for the Ford team this weekend with a one, two
It's about time Mikko and Jarri Matti had a bit of luck go their way.
Amazing footage of Loeb barrel rolling such a small mistake with huge consequences and a very belt C4.
Very tough rally with top names coming unstuck, really felt for Petter Solberg, a podium position lost due to lack of spares to fix suspension damage - cruel luck.
Looking forward to rally Poland, Mikko is still in with a chance.

I watched it on dave earlier, that would've been Solberg's rally easily if the car hadn't let him down. Apparently even The Great One makes mistakes eh... who knew?

Great result for Mikko.

I still love rallying but it seems like most have lost interest looking at the response to this post!

So whats wrong? Is it Paul King? 4 wheel drive? Loebs brilliance?

My humble opinion is we need rear wheel drive back. Sorry, but its just better!

^^^^^^^^^ I've watched it less and less over the last 3/4 years because I've found it increasingly boring. It's partly down to Dave's hopeless coverage, but IMO the generally easier stages, many of them repeated, and cars which are just so good have reduced the spectacle. There's very little challenge any more.

Hopefully with the new regs the cars will move around more, there will be more of them, and there won't be a dominant team or driver.

The lack of manufacturers has ruined it for me, as has the lack of a challenger to Loeb.

The coverage, or lack therof, is the main problem.

It was a good, spectactular rally & deserved to be appreciated by a wider audience.

That said I'm unconvinced that Rally Poland is going to grab the less well-informed spectator's attention when they read through the schedules.

I think that's the biggest accident he's had whilst rallying, I certainly don't remember a bigger one.
It really brings home how important good pace notes and concentration are.
If he'd not been changing a note then he probably would have reacted to the slide a split second quicker and hence not been so wide on entry to the corner... etc etc etc.

Ive read that Solberg pissed of Malcom Wilson a few years ago by joining Subaru after Ford gave him his big chance so I cant see him in a Ford very soon.
