Silverstone F1 practice day

I have been invited by a supplier to the practise day this Friday.
I have never been to an F1 event before.
A couple of questions to the experienced please.
What will the traffic be like on this practise day ( Friday 19th)
Is parking on tarmac or grass. (choice of which car to take)
What time should I turn up.
At the end of the day, is it worth leaving a bit earlier than when practise finishes to avoid the rush.
Any tips ,best place to watch from etc

Traffic will be ok, maybe an hour to get out. See if you can go park and ride that works well.I have never been to an F1 event before.

Could be parked on grass or tarmac, I think grass is more likely
Watch it all, end of practice can often see the drivers pushing hard.
Walk around the circuit and view from lots of places. Luffields is good to see the cars close up but they are at low speed. Watching at the end of hanger is great as you can see the cars really moving around and you get the sense of speed.

as suggested, walk around the track, dont get caught up in the masses around the pit straight.
hangar straight is awesome, you can get very close and its a thrill watching a car do nearly 190mph. club is another great corner, you can watch them come over the rise at the exit of stowe all the way up to abbey. there is a spot just before the bridge (at bridge) where you can tuck into the fencing and thats an awesome spot too.
fridya is also roaming grandstand seats so make the mmost of that too. the grandstads at copse are good as you see them come down the pit straight and again the grandstand at stowe is good as you get a good view down hangar straight.
