Ipod connector in BMW M6

Anyone knows what Ipods are known to be compatible with the ipod connector in a 2005 BMW M6?

it will have been fitted after construction, assuming it is a full ipod connector (not just an aux connector). If so, any ipod with a dock connector will work, so from the 3g ipod onwards.

It's jsut a cable in the glove box and in the console it seems to be the aux section.

So last night I stick a bid in for a 20gb 4th gen ipod.. only to then find one with a buy it now price for less than my max bid... Anyway. Of course i win the auction at exactly the max bid I put in, thinking ah well i got a 20gb player for my car now that plays all my protected tunes, not to worry.
Get into my car and thought i'd try the iphone out again...
.. turns out where i had been selecting Aux and hearing nothing. I should have been selecting "CD1". No issues whatsoever and my iphone played beautifuly.

Ah well, I suppose having a separate ipod will save me the hassle of pluuging my phone in and then forgetting to take it out, everytime i go for a short trip.

CD1 through to CD6.

1 is playlists, 2 is albums, 3 is artists, I think.
