Saw the new 4 door Porsche in the car park behind the grandstands/pits. Oh dear. Not a very good looking car at all. How they have let that out of the stable is a mystery.

However parked next to it was a red 997 GT3. It was slightly different in two ways (that I could see) one was that it had centre-lock wheels which looked fantstic and the other was a strange bracket in front of the passenger seat. Both were Porsche Germany cars and I was wondering if anyone else knew what the bracket was on the GT3 and how unusual the centre-lock wheels are as I have never seen them on one before.

The new Gen 2 GT3 has centre locking wheels.

Not sure about the brace.

I saw that Porsche too, can't add much about the bracket other than it did look very substantial.

Just looked on the Porsche website. That is a nice touch for a production car. They looked really good.

We saw this on Wednesday evening too and I was challenged to find an uglyer car at Le Mans.

I failed.

Saw it leaving after the race.

Hideous. Truly hideous.

Even the cars that had been in the barriers at 180mph looked better.

I saw it too. It definitely looks like they got confused and the styling is stuck half way between a 911 and a Porsche.
I mean it has to look like a Porsche, which means it has to look like a 911, but it can't look like a 911 because that would devalue the 911.
So you get this thing that looks like a Chinese knock-off with 2 extra doors!

You're probably right. I figured it was likely to be some sort of bracket for testing equipment but was hoping someone would know exactly what.
