British Grand Prix, Silverstone and bicycles

Hi, I'll going to the British Grand Prix later on this week and I am wondering on the stance of Silverstone and bikes. I'm camping about 1 mile from the track and plan to ride to the track everyday and use the bike to ride around the track to get different views. Does anyone know if I can take a bike in to Silverstone on race weekend? If so is there a safe place to leave it?

I've seen lots of people riding bikes around Silverstone during the Grand Prix weekend over the years, I've even seen those petrol scooter things and Segways rolling around. There isn't anywhere sensible to leave a bike as far as I'm aware. I'm pretty sure they wont let you take it up to your seat if you're in the grandstands either unless it folds down into a bag or something.

It's nice riding on the track afterwards, and you can try your luck around the paddocks, 'cos you're hard to catch.

Although I have never seen a written policy there has never been a problem with bicycles in the circuit. Motorised vehicles scooters etc are generally only allowed by team crew, suite holders etc who receive permission for them and anyone riding them has to be licensed to do so on the road for an equivalent vehicle (i.e. a road legal version). There are plenty of fences etc around the permiter to lock bikes to behind the grandstands
