Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am not going to write the full story out again, or copy and paste it. I am a news writer for the Gaming Clan that I play for and have just updated the news article I posted about FM3 with news about Le Mans. The high points are:

:: Multi Class racing, I assume similar to the system used in RaceDriver Grid from Codemasters.

:: 100 R class cars to choose from, this could be good and could be bad as they say there is only 400 ish cars in the game. Would be sad to loose some great cars, because they wanted to stuff a few more R1's and R2's on to the disc. Unless they offer more cars as Free DLC.

:: Le Sarthe and Bugatti Le Mans tracks to be included in the game.

There were too many R class cars in Forza 2 in my mind.

Was just thinking the same thing, was hoping they would bin some of the R variants in preference to some decent 'normal' cars

Dear Forza,

Different team liveries don't count in the number of cars available. If you offer me 5 Audi R10s from 5 different teams, that's one car, not 5.

Yours tediously,

Would be nice if the Liveries could be bought for specific stock cars (a la DiRT) and therefore the car would "become" it's 'R' Variant.

I found the worst thing was that I didn't want to win R Class cars... Hence all the races I have left to finish (bar 2) have prizes of R Class Cars.

R Class cars are limited to their class (no upgrades) and often excluded from online play.

What's the point? S Class cars do it better. The Paints can be upgraded to match current liveries rather than ones available pre-shipping of the game, and on the whole they're Probably faster.

Au contraire squire...

The R-class cars are very, very quick it's just a lot trickier to get lap times out of them.
Have a go in the C6R, that is biblically quick! thumbup

Burns Mini V. R4 CTS-V

Place your bets? =p

As far as the Corvette goes are you sure that an S-Class CR5 couldn't Match it? Stock the damn thing is pretty good wink

To take up a quarter of the car allowance with rather limiting cars seems a little pointless to me. Would you rather have 3 R-Class Porkers or 3 production Model Porkers that you can actually play with?

  1. edit# By play I mean drift of course... woop woop driving

Oh I'm not saying I'd sooner have more R-Class cars, just that I rather enjoy them and they are very quick.

S-Class Corvette vs. R2 C6R sounds like fun.

You up for a battle Curry? I'm genuinely intrigued, even though I reckon the C6R will be faster, but more difficult to get a quick lap time from! scratchchin

Umm... The Mini's become a Corvette? Why was I not informed?! I'm only involved in the planning of the vehicle! :P

Multiclass racing will be good, although you can be sure that as soon as you are online then people will just race in R1's to make sure they have the fastest car.

Yeha maybe, But if it's multiclass you'll only get scored for your class...

R1 beating a R2 will make no difference to the R2's score, If they're the fastest R2 they'll still get 10 points.

Means that some of us will still be able to get somewhere. Ther are so many good players online that I dont stand a chance, so I pick a car a class below or above, and have a better race.

I dont think multi class racing will work with only 8 people.

Online in full lobbies you generally find players going round in groups of 3 or 4 dependant on skill level anyway...

So why not make that division class related to boot, give the less skilled drivers cars with more power and they'll catch up with the skilled players on long straights allowing for closer racing anyway.

If it doesn't work people won't play that type of race anyway =)

An R1 class car would whoop an S class. End of. Just the extra breaking power alone would make the difference massive.

Audi: Forza 3 Audi R8 behaves like the real deal
Chas Murphy, a product manager for Audi has revealed that he has drove a real Audi R8 previously and believes that the version in Forza 3 handles just like the real deal does in life. Great compliment for Turn10.

"I've never felt the adrenaline I felt sitting behind the wheel at Turn10 playing the game for the first time," said Murphy. "I drove the real R8 in Spain and the car in the game behaves exactly like it does in real life."

As Chas Murphy, a product manager for Audi, explained, the complexity and precision involved in the R8's design make it impossible to manufacture more than twenty a day. While Audi has closely guarded many of the fine details about the R8 in advance of its official release, they offered Turn 10 exclusive access to many of the car's most intimate specifications to insure its in-game representation would be as accurate as possible.

I'd be up for this boyo, I'm going to have to fettle it a bit, but I'm sure I can give you a good race.
