Pretty sure they are Cerb specific. Topic about it in the past week or two, shouldn't be past page 2 or 3 yet. Have a quick look, a few people were talking about getting alloy bells made up so they could use rotors instead as they were cheaper and easier to come by.

They were made for the Cerb.

I've tried, and failed, to get a set off something else to fit.

If you get bells made to fit the hubs you can fit AP discs.

That's what I'm planning to do.

It was meant to happen last year but the company who were to do them for me went tits-up.

I've already spoken to someone else and I'm waiting for them to get back to me with an idea of when they'll be in a position to do them.

I'll contact them again .....

I got a reply and it's not happening.

Basically there isn't enough potential sales to justify the development expense.

But if anyone knows where I might be able to source a set for my car please let me know.

Speak to BG Developments. They make all of mine for the race car. Have also done a few set for my road car etc.

Are you sure of those?

None of them are showing up on the AP site for me.

I believe they are parts that are currently only sold within a kit, but persevere, contact them and directly and you should be able to get them.

I've persued this with BG and got nowhere, they are, as has been said, part of a kit and they won't sell seperatly, no matter how much I pleaded.

I'll look out my old email ping pong and update this thread.

Time for AP to do a Cerb' kit then if they won't split existing kits!

I'll talk to a company I know of who do proven, performance alloy goodies for a couple of other marques, they could well be persuaded to help, if they know there is at least a limited market there.

I've started another thread as a list of names of people who are possibly interested in buying new discs for the front of their 4.2 Cerbs.

If anyone is interested can you stick your names on it folks.

We'll keep this thread running as a how / what / where / who / how much.

And perhaps, just perhaps this will happen after all.

I think you will find that the cost of a replacement AP rotor is at least the same or even more than that of a replacement disc from a TVR source. However to use it you then have to pay for the bells and fittings which are not cheap. End result is a solution that initially costs a lot more than buying one piece discs with little or no chance of saving the additional cost over time.

^^ except the AP discs are a quality product, less likely to crack, warp .. will give a longer service life and stand more punishment than the OE discs. At least that's my experience. The OE discs are cheap but not necessarily better value.

I agree and it gives you flexibility as well... The point I was trying to make was that quality costs and going down the AP route isn't a cheaper solution when you look at the figures involved but you do get other benefits as you say. The problem is how much are those benefits worth? That's the point to bear in mind.

IIRC were you not doing AP upgrade kits for the Cerbera? Is this an opportunity for you?

AP stuff is very good, and my dealings through BG developments have always been very good too, not the cheapest as you say but great quality. There are cheaper discs available that bolt on with an AP bolt pattern if you already have separate bells, but i don't know anything about their quality or long term performance.
Started supplying cerbera upgrades about 10 years ago when tvr were wanting 400 pounds per disc for the 4.5 discs! the AP kits at that time were actually cheaper than the OE tvr fit and on hard track days were lasting about 10 times longer!
It all depends what you want I guess, and if you're prepared to pay for it because even on a group buy the AP margins are small

There aren't many options regarding discs for a 4.2

If somebody can come up with a solution then there are probably 10 or more potential customers right off (if the other thread is anything to go by).

Personally I'd like a 2-piece set up and then when I need discs next time all I need to do is go to an AP dealer and order them.

So folks ..... what can you offer us?
