Decided to "treat myself" and get a sports exhaust for my 99 C2 cab. I have read most of the thread relating to a sports exhaust and came up with the following shortlist

1) Fabspeed (also available through design911.com) - £795+vat delivered. Listened to it online and sounded good, though not at boomy as I would have liked. A yellow 993RS drove past me in SE London a couple of months ago and the noise was sweet as a nut.

2) Tech9: £1200 fitted. Don't know how it sounds though Tech9 claim a power hike of 8-10bhp

3)OEM sports exhaust: £945 delivered through design911 or £1200ish fitted by OPC. About 5 weeks waiting time at OPC but would love it before xmas

4) Powerflow stainless steel: Won't quote me without seeing the car? So would have to wait or drop off shortlist.

Someone mentioned Millie Miglia exhaust in one of the threads. Any links to the suppliers for these?

What are people's views on these? I really want better sound from the engine rather than more BHP. Also came across one online priced at £600+vat delivered. Will dig up the link when I get home

Hi,

I got the factory fitted sports exhaust with the "loudness" swith inside the car. I am sure it was about £1700'ish but was prepared to pay this as wanted to keep the warranty intact.

Have Cargraphic Exhaust on my 99 C2 - think it was about £700. It's a bit more basso than the standard but not as spine tingling as the Techart i had on a previous 996 tiptronic. If i wasnt selling my car i'd be seriously contemplating the Techart again - it's about £1300

Thanks Stuart. THe price for yours sounds very competitive as the OPC gave me a breakdown which brought everything to £1947 (7.5 hours labour = £618+vat). I thought the initial price of £1200 included fitting but it did not!

Something strange here - The guy at OPC brighton said "if you still find the price too expensive, come back and we will see what we can do for you" - CAn you haggle over parts/fitting price?

Colin: Does Techart have a UK supplier?

Melv: thanks for the links. The first leads me back to Fabsport, though it sounds very appealing at £895 fitted. Is the OPC worth twice(+) the cost of Fabspeed?

I have a Fabspeed on my 993 C4 and love the sound.
Doubt if you are near Aberdeen to come for a spin to hear it though.

Tech9 is the only Techart dealer in the UK I think.

www.tech9.ms (but you probably know that already)
