Well this is a bit of a long shot, but you never know...

The story is that my daughter has become very attached to a small 'beanie' toy dog called Oddball from 102 Dalmatians - it's a dalmatian with no spots, hence the name.

Yesterday she lost the dog whilst on a long walk with the child-minder. We have done extensive searches of the locality, put out an APB, informed the local and national media (who strangely don't think it is much of a story), but Oddball remains missing. Personally I suspect she has been dog-napped and will be half way around the world having been sold into the ex Disney character sex-trade by now, but I'd rather not have to explain this to a 2 year old.

She did previously have a close relationship with a toy Elephant called Humphrey, so being forward thinking we bought a couple of spare Humphreys for just such an eventuality, however Oddball was a gift/hand-me-down so getting a crafty duplicate was not an option.

Now I have done plenty of Googling, and looking on Ebay, and the only one we can find is in the US and they won't deliver to the UK (though a pleading e-mail is on its way!)

For reference this is the link to the US based Oddball:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Disney-Store-102-DALMATIANS-Pl...

By any small chance does anybody on here have an 'Oddball' that they would let go? I'm prepared to stump up £10 or £15 for an exact replica and will of course pay postage, or if local to me (nearish Taunton) I can offer a ride in the TVR as a sweetener biggrin

The little one will get over it, but I would be really grateful if the power of PH could help us out on this one?

Thanks!

We had this a while back with Bunny.

We bought a replacement and a second one that's in the cupboard just in case. Trouble was she found the one in the cupboard and said "I don't like soft Bunny, I want old Bunny".

Sadly no, that one is 10" high, the lost one is only about 3" high, and not fluffy...

He's grown and needs a haircut.

You needed to stagger usage prior to the crossover tongue out
How true that is!

Poor old Humphrey had his trunk chewed to threads - when we tried to introduce Humphrey ver4 he got rejected on the grounds of not smelling right (i.e. not stinking to high heaven - the main reason for the attempted replacement!)

When the little one worked out that there was more than one Humphrey he suddenly fell out of favour, now he has been demoted to the end of the bed...

Yes I saw that one too, I think this is the backup plan... Slightly different collar, but we might get away with it.

I like it, though if I said that he would probably end up getting a haircut and it all starts again...

Is it an actual beanie baby or just a small soft toy?

I know exactly what you mean - I tried passing on Jason to my daughter and I cringe every time she grabs him by the tail and drags him across the floor - poor old chap only has one eye. I'd be DEVASTATED if he got lost, hence I do have a bit of sympathy for the loss of Oddball...

I think it's an actual beanie baby (95%)... It was a hand me down so didn't have the tags on it, but it is made just like the other beanie babies that we have in the house.

Success!

The US seller came back and agreed to bend her rules! Should be delivered in a week or so - The story is that she is on an American road-trip down Route 66, stopping off to see Lightning McQueen on the way.

Thank goodness for that.

Thanks for all the support guys!

This reminds me of the whole Blue Peter Petra the Dog thing - apparently not one person noticed that the dog had been replaced.

It's ok, the other one just went on holiday to a farm in the country where it gets to play in the sun all day... It didn't die or anything like that.

Why wouldn't they send to the UK? If you pay the postage why is it so hard to write "UK" on the parcel?
