The quick question: Can anyone tell me roughly how long the ECU takes to establish a new set of adaptive values after a reset and do you actually notice this happening?

The longer drivel for anyone who's interested: After months of finding excuses I've finally got my laptop talking to the ECU and believe my low rev hesitation under acceleration is most likely due to a noisy throttle pot on one bank. The adaptive values on this bank are all over the place, positive and negative by a large margin, while the other bank is close to zero across the whole map.

When I replace the pot and reset the stored adaptive values there must be a delay between the lambda sensor measuring any weak or rich mixture error, the ECU compensating, and the mixture actually being changed and the adaptive value updated. And this will happen for each point on the map.

I assume the adaptive values must continuously update as part of the closed-loop lambda control process within the ECU. Does anyone know if the update time constant for this is fixed or is it faster following a reset and then refines itself over time?

with mine once i reset them it happend within 2 seconds, the car wouldn't idle right and needed me to keep it idling using the pedal.

After about a minute it reverted to its old settings and idled (albeit high)

(this was before I knew what I was doing)
