Hello

I've just been told by Henley Heritage that I need a new fuel tank - mine was leaking and I was apparently lucky that fuel did not hit the hot exhaust !!!

Does anyone have a good condition one they would sell, or perhaps know of a dealer/breaker etc that may have one ?? It's called a 'Reinforced Tank' and the part number is S28L 10027.

Thanks in advance

Neil

[not many people know that]It probably wasn't as dangerous as it sounds, because its very hard to light petrol just by heating it (its flash point is above its boiling point). Oil on the exhaust is a different thing altogether, get it hot enough and it will ignite. [/not many people know that] Which is no help at all with your search for a new tank, sorry.

I ordered a new stainless tank from Steve Reid yesterday. Delivery maybe after christmas, but not worried as painting chassis. Make sure you give him an accurate description of your current tank as there are different styles.

Good Luck,

Christian.

Not a problem Colin. For the record I do S/S Fuel tanks for most models, S/S exhaust systems, manifolds, cat replacements, track day silencers etc for most models, Shock absorbers, Brakes etc etc etc and am often cheaper than most. Even oddball one offs are usually possible.
