My GCSE maths skills make this sum £9.99p however, Tescos this morning charging me 99.9p a litre I bought dead on 10 litres and they charged me £10. Nice of them to round it up for me. I didn't want the penny, you keep it you greedy F***s.

If you didn't want it what are you complaining about, it would probably have made a hole in your trousers pocket and then fallen out so you would have lost it anyway, so you have been saved a potential holed pocket.

Should have gone to Tesco instead. wink

Slightly O/T but strange how no-one comments on fuel price reductions.

The last few days around here have seen unleaded drop from 100.9 to 98.9

How accurate do you think the fuel meter is? It was probably a gnat's smidge over 10 litres resulting in the extra penny. Failing that, you should have been watching the price meter, and stopped when it read £9.99 if you are that worried.

Regardless of who is in the wrong in this particular story but I can sympathyse withthe OP.
I was looking for a flat to rent a few years back and the negotiation was on a weekly price, but of course gets charged monthly (why do they do that by the way? why not just negotiate in monthly terms to begin with?)
Anyway the price has been agreed and when i come to sign the contract the monthly price has been rounded up for me from 997 to £1000. I asked him why so? "it's only £3 isn't it"
Yes, £3 pounds of MY money, so it should be for me to say if i want to give away the £3 nobody else.
The prick has given me this disgusted kind of "you tight bd" look and put in £997.

But i treally fks me off that does. In a world where everyone, who can be assed, is free to send you an invoice and demand money from you, it really fks me off when other people take liberties with my money.
That and relatives guesstimating my income based on things i own, then deciding i can afford to pay for everyone when going out for breakfast or drinks. I can and usually offer to pay anyway, but at no point should it be assumed to be a standard or be expected!

Is that your long distance RR..?

Is it diesel...?

If so, forget the supermarkets and use BP or Shell. They're usually the same price as supermarkets.

I've only had to replace one of four Ford injectors in 204,000 miles of BP motoring...deep joy smile

I absolutely hate it when a service charge is added to a bill automatically, regardless of my opinion of the service...

Talking of service and assumptions, we had a particularly crap meal in a high street pizza restaurant not long ago and the waitress had the bare-faced cheek to ask us if we wanted the change from the cash that we paid with!! If we'd been halfway out of the door already I might have let her off, but as we were still at our table, then yes, we'd like the feckin' change please.

Why didn't you make it stop on £10 (measly amount to fill up btw).

Surely it's not just me who has an OCD issue about rounding the amount up to the nearest 5/10?

Just to elaborate. I only put 10 litres in because it was a mates MGBGT I was borrowing, the fuel guage doesn't work so didn't want to put much in. Just so happened I stopped on 10 litres exactly and found it strange they had charged me £10. Ok a penny means nothing nowadays but you multiply it by the Billions Tesco are taking every year and its a lot.

And don't get me started on cheeky restaurants adding a service charge willy nilly. Ok its its stated on the menu then fair enough you know its being added but its up to you to tip or not to tip.

The correct response is, "cool, just call it £994 then".
