Thanks for all that came down to brands on Sunday, esp those that helped out, not sure how the others do it on there own.

Car seems to be running well, just a little hot, was running 105 on the 2nd race. also need a bit more power, as have less than the 2.9 guys. hopefully going to try a new camshaft and a 74oC stat for the next race. see if that helps.

Getting a lot of feedback from the car, just need to push the breaks a bit more, and not getting the full use from the AP5000 PRO's and 303mm disc's

Sorry couldn't make it to Brands Leigh, but should be at as many of the upcoming races as I can manage. smile

Are you getting your other engine re-built, or working on this one ?

Well going to get a new fast-road camshaft etc, but put into the current 3.9, as don't want to bed a new chamshaft into a new engine. this should give me a small boost in power, while I rebuild the fully blue-printed engine, with new billet race flywheel and T5 gearbox. also this why I'll allways have a backup engine and gearbox.

Well going to keep the car complete with the old engine, until the new one is ready.
But I'm in two minds about Mallory

As I do have very limited funds, so trying to work out where this is best spent, i.e. developing the car, and doing some more testing at Brands. or doing the all the races. I want to race, but also I don't want to be out on my own in a sub-standard car, that I can't compete in. would be ok if I could even compete with the class C guys. I know some is down to experience, as last year most of you had very similar times on the 1st round of Brands to me this year. but seeing I was loosing most of the time down the straight, puts a big question mark to my power. as I was able to catch you up on some of the bends, in the 1st race, until I went off. (need a bit more experience mixing it) gave Keith too much room.

It was good seeing you again Leigh and it was a pleasure to help you out (even though I didn't do a lot). Made a nice change and I enjoyed it.

Leigh

You know my opinion .. they should have left the rules as they were and let the V8 compete with the V6 boys ..

Your performance at the weekend proved that the V8 still could be tweaked a bit and give excellent wheel to wheel racing with Keith, Tim and co..

But witk the rules as is .. you are faced with a pottential 5K will to be running mid field in the class you are in.

Well If I had all the power I'm allowed, I'm running about 40/50 BHP down on what I would have been allowed in class C, this would have given my an advantage, plus we do have more class C v6 cars now, I think we may have gotten them anyway.
Kevan is in the same boat, he's got a class B car but has to run class A.

but I just want to be able to mix it with the class C guy even if I'm not listed in there class. also being in class B, does leave me open to develop the car more, which I enjoy doing, just with I had more money to do it with.
