The vx220 is like most other elises/exiges in that they are (in some versions) very quick off the line.
A standard 220 isn't that special but a turbo 220 should be comfortably under 5 seconds and if done properly 4.5 to 60 should be repeatable. This gives you (and I know from experience) quite a misleading belief in the cars overall pace and people forget that when up to motorway speeds these cars are average at best.

The problem is that great power-to-weight gets you so far and as soon as aero drag comes into play weight is pushed quite a way down the list and it's raw power you need. for example a stock VXR8 should be able to top 170 but no standard elise based car can do that.

And yes they do try it on with everybody
A common phrase mentioned in the forums is "yeah, well I'd have it in the corners"

Still - 400bhp/tonne is *very* intoxicating and I wouldn't change my 211. It's a keeper.

Sam do you not have people tryin it on everywhere you go? Maybe is's cos i'm in essex??
The thing that always makes me laugh is the saxo boys etc...it's not even a challenge. Same with the Focus crowd... bye bye. I think it's cos most of them have no clue as to what they are looking at that has just given them a spanking and is dissapearing away from them at speed. Even better when they have thier girlfriends in the car with them.
I also get the BMW and Audi knobs trying it on. That can be more of a battle.

Do you honestly not get that down your way? Maybe it's something in the water round here.

Oh yeh Sam, I'll take some pics for you at the next meet. Hope you and the family are well, catch you soon.
