Rolex Submariner with Pinholes
Discussion
Chaps my Sub is a pinhole model, what is the difference between this and the later models with out them? Is it less desirable?
I love mine and when in the airport in Dubai at Christmas noticed a pinhole model was for sale new. Was this just an old model that had not been sold?
Can't find much on the net about the differences and the years things changed.

Hi GMan - The pinhole models or lug holes are pre 2004. In 2004, I believe Rolex introduced models with lug holes. When did you purchase your watch? I love mine and when in the airport in Dubai at Christmas noticed a pinhole model was for sale new. Was this just an old model that had not been sold?

The one you saw on sale was definitely an older model pre 2004.
I personally don't think it is any less desirable, it is just a model of a year with lug holes
