Why do sold cars remain for so long in the clasifies section

I think they remain 'advertised' as Sold until the vendor clicks a button to completely remove the listing.

Should be removed automatically once they are sold or if the advert is over a certain perioid

When I sold a car on here, I clicked to mark it sold (when I received the deposit) and then clicked again (once the car was paid for and removed) to remove the ad completely

When removing an advert there are three options, "Sold", "Sold via PistonHeads" and Withdrawn. Sold and Withdrawn both remove the advert from the site straight away, but "Sold via PH" will leave it visible in the classifieds until the advert reaches it's expiry date.

They are not left there indefinitely, but I agree the some categories are getting a bit crowded with them so we will look at a way to make them disappear a little sooner at some point in the near future.
